Orthopedic Rehab Specialists & its affiliates will schedule patients with personal liability and auto accident cases. We require the patient’s liability or auto insurance carrier information, patient healthcare information, or establishment of a self-pay arrangement prior to scheduling.
Any liability insurance information must be given at the time of scheduling. If an attorney is involved, the patient will be responsible for providing us with the attorney’s name, address, & phone number.
For automobile accidents, we will bill your liability insurance carrier as the primary payer. Medpay payments are a part of your insurance benefit and should not have any effect on your premiums, as your insurance carrier will seek subrogation from the at-fault party. Once the liability insurance has reached the maximum payout, the patient’s health insurance will be billed. Your health insurance carrier may also choose to seek subrogation from the at-fault driver’s insurance.
Failure to provide health insurance information may result in the reprocessing of claims at a later date. There is a $100.00 fee for reprocessing claims due prior to any reprocessing activity. For patients with no health insurance, self-pay arrangements are available. Self-pay payments are due at the time of service. As a courtesy to our patients, we will provide claims information to third party payers, but we will not bill third party payers as primary.
Any balance remaining after 45 days will be the patient’s responsibility.
